Once the quest battle and cutscenes play out, Boris should become available to the player’s faction in your current campaign as an army commander. Once you’ve held off any incursions and secured your position a quest battle marker will appear, prompting the player to fight for Boris’ fate. While playing as one of these factions, you must capture and hold for 10 turns Kislev’s three keystone cities – Kislev, Praag, and Erengrad.
The first step to unlocking Boris Ursus is to play as either the Ice Court, Tzarina Katarin’s faction, or the Great Orthodoxy, Grand Patriarch Kostaltyn’s faction. With the delay of Total War: Warhammer 3’s release to February, Creative Assembly snuck in a poorly-held surprise for Kislev fans – the previous Tzar, Boris Ursus, is still alive and can be recruited to join the player’s forces.
